BIO DILUTOR (SERIAL DILUTER)

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Bio Dilutor enables the performance of fast and accurate decimal dilutions and general purpose small volume liquid handling. This instrument cuts back on time spent in labs devoted to general small liquid handling procedures and dilutions.
Although devised specifically for the performance of serial dilutions in microbiology labs, any life science lab can benefit from the use of this high precision automatic pipette. The Bio Dilutor Advanced model can be connected to a scale in order to perform gravimetric dilutions. During diluting procedures, in order to avoid samples contaminating the diluent, the instrument separates sampled volumes from the rest of the diluent with an air bubble.

SYSTEM HIGHLIGHTS

Efficiency: The Bio Dilutor streamlines serial dilutions and liquid handling by reducing times and labor required. When diluting, it avoids diluent contamination with an air bubble system that ensures handled samples won’t come in contact with diluents.
Precision: A precise stepper motor controls liquid dispensing in the Bio Dilutor.
Versatility: It can be programmed to match a large array of liquid dispensing and dilution needs. A commanding pedal is available to ease operation with the device.
Its liquid handling circuit can be easily disassembled for sterilization.

APLICATION SCOPE

Both Bio Dilutor models are high precision liquid handling tools that can automate serial dilutions and small volume liquid dispensing (between 1µl and 10 ml). While highly recommended to perform serial dilutions, it can also be used to precisely fill containers with predefined solution volumes.
The Biodilutor Advanced enables labs to perform low volume gravimetric dilutions when connecting the device to balance. Once sample weight is measured, the instrument dispenses accurate amounts of liquid according to it-s weight. The advanced model also includes a controller keyboard that eases device programming.
Both models can connected to a printer in order to print records of the dilutions and liquid dispensing that take place.

PREPARING SAMPLES FOR SERIAL DILUTIONS AND CONTINUING SAMPLE PROCESSING

Initial sample dilution takes place inside sterile bags, samples are placed in Portabag holders while awaiting to be homogenized in Masticator blenders. Once homogenized, aliquots can be serially diluted using the Bio Dilutor. The Eddy Jet 2 spiral plater is used in order to reduce the amount of plates that are processed, offering a threefold decimal dilution counting range in a single plate. Following incubation, plates are automatically counted and fed with the Plate Handler or automatically counted and manually fed with the Flash&Go.
